Patch backing

Choose the type of backing to best suit your applications needs, following several type

Iron-on backing:  This type is not permanent , it can only be temporary. If you want permanent solid hot melt adhesive is not only the need to use the line to sew. Generally this type of patches is often used on somewhere that is not often wash, such as bags, boxes and so on. Because they do not always wash, hot melt basic guarantee permanently. It’s use is very simple, you can use hot iron to 160-220 degrees, holding about 20 seconds, hot melt adhesive can stick on.

No backing  : the normal way for patches which will be sewed finally.

Velcro backing:  It’s  features is durable, easy to pull easy to close, you can wash, color and variety. Principle refers to the two rows of woven nylon, which is a row of numerous hook, another row of small round hole, when two rows are stacked together, they can be firmly stuck. 

Patch border

1. Merrowed border or overhand border, also known as the edging is to use a sewing machine complete this process.

There are some special type:

(1) Cutting edge: it is special, usually must use this way for the patches which can’t heat cutting edge.

(2) laser cutting edge: But these methods have limitations, only for the patch, but not for back chapter, the laser can only be to the side position, after the half burned chapter will stay back a little cloth at the end of the laser a little trimming, but also more expensive, laser trimming can ensure that all of the back cut out the same chapter, but the relative quality of individual chapters look at the back, or would be better man eagerly.

Embroidery Coverage

Now that you’ve had some fun with the colors, you’re going to need to figure out just how much of your patch will be covered with embroidery. This is the part where you will need to do a little guesstamating on the percentage of the patch that will have stitching.
