Keg coupler

A Keg Coupler is a key element of any draft beer system. It's a small but vital piece of equipment that connects the gas and beer lines to your keg. Pressurized gas (either CO2 or nitrogen depending on the type of beer being dispensed) flows into the side of the keg coupler through an air line and the beer flows out through a beer line attached to the top. 

Simply put, your draft beer dispensing will be a failure without the right keg coupler. On any draft beer system, the coupler, or keg tap, allows the gas tank to supply pressurized CO2 into the keg. You attach the bottom of the coupler to the keg valve, the gas line to the side hose nipple, and the beer line on top of the coupler. When in use, the result is beer being pushed up the beer line toward the draft faucet.

With a body made from nickel-plated brass, the coupler has a 304 stainless steel probe – the part that is inserted inside the keg. Every part of this coupler that comes into contact with your beer is made of stainless-steel. This high-end material ensures durable performance and a high-quality pour with no added metallic taste.

Type S

This keg couupler compatible with most European breweries , also known as European Sankey. Keg tap has longer and more narrow probe than the D system keg coupler. This keg coupler is constructed of Chrome Plated Brass body with 304 Stainless Steel Probe.

Type D

D system keg coupler is the most common system available in the U.S., also know as American Sankey, and used by all the major breweries as well as most craft breweries.  

Type A

This keg coupler is a German Slider A System keg tap that is compatible with beer kegs. The type of coupler you need will depend on where that specific beer was kegged. Couplers are simple and easy to use. By attaching the coupler head to the keg and depressing the handle to engage, pressure is allowed to enter the keg and the beverage is pushed out by means of the extractor tube or spear.

Type G

The coupler body is made of Chrome plated Brass while the Probe is of SS 304 grade. So your beer will always have only an SS contact.

Attach both beer and gas lines prior to tapping the keg. Easy to fit and convenient to use, this keg coupler has 5/8″ BSP Threads.

G system coupler for kegs is also popular as a Grundy keg coupler. It is designed for use with beers like Anchor Steam (50-liter kegs), Boddingtons, Caffrey’s, Carling, Fuller’s, Grolsch, Old Speckled Hen, Tennents, and Watneys.
